John Borja | Stone Temple Pilots medley

John Borja here on Stone Temple Pilots covers across a medley of the group's most famous tunes. Borja, who is from the Philippines, was reportedly one of the final top two lead vocalists being considered by STP to become their new front man after the untimely death of Scott Weiland and departure of Chester Bennington of Linkin Park, who held the gig for a couple of years. If Borja lands the slot, the story is similar to that of the bands Boston and Journey, both of whom found new singers on the Internet after the loss of their original vocalists.

Summary

Having been blessed with a voice timbre nearly identical to late STP vocalist Scott Weiland, this performer makes the most of his gift by pouring raw power into his performance on the tracks in this medley. Nicely recorded with original STP-style vocal effects at times, it's easy to see why he was a top 2 finalist to get the gig.
